The first issue of the Official Gazette was published in 1948. It was published by the Government of Bahrain in the form of papers under the title Official Journal [Al-Majallah Al-Rasmiyah]. It used to publish advertisements and bulletins issued by the Governemnt at the time affecting the public's living and organizational affairs and daily transactions.
In 1955 the ninetieth issue of the publication was published under the title Official Bulletin [Al-Nashrah Al-Rasmiyah], in the form of a publication printed at the Dar Almoayyed Printing Press in Bahrain.
In 1957 the permanent title of the document became Official Gazette [Al-Jaridah Al-Rasmiyah], and it was published by the Directorate of Information at the time.
Today, the Official Gazette is being developed and modernized. There is a demand for it from various official sources, and specialists such as judges, legal counsels, lawyers, and jurists, as well as all banks and national and foreign companies and establishments in both the public and private sectors. Undoubtedly, the Ministry of Information which seeks to provide distinguished media services, is striving to modernize and develop the Official Gazette by adopting the most modern methods and technologies.
